The newly elected Board has been preparing for the 2021-22 season. Here are some updates:
NPDL Fall
You are cordially invited to the NPDL Fall Invitational - an annual online tournament created with the goal of bringing together the parliamentary debate community from across the US.
The dates are October 23-24, 2021.
Building on the success of last season, we are looking for coaches from all NPDL regions to serve on the tournament staff. If you are interested, please fill out this application form by August 27.
NPDL Staff Applications
In the coming season, we will be creating staff positions for both adults and students who want to volunteer to serve the parli community. We are starting with two:
Recordings Coordinator - an adult community member who will build up our round recordings database;
Regional Correspondents - students who will gather tournament data, author news articles, and interview community members.
For more details and for information on how to apply, please head to parliamentarydebate.org/staff
Round Recordings
31 round recordings from the 2021 NPDL-TOC are now available on our website. Please share them with any students who want to learn from some of the best parli debaters in the nation!
We want to thank all the community volunteers who recorded the rounds and made it possible for us to create this educational resource.
Fall League Meeting
Our Fall league meeting will be held Sunday, October 24, 12:30-2:30 PM (Pacific time). It will be on Zoom, so all members, even those who can’t make it to NPDL Fall, are encouraged to attend.
Proposals are due September 24. For details, see parliamentarydebate.org/league-meetings
Points Eligibility
The Board has amended Article XXI Section 11 to enable 2021-22 Fall semester online tournaments to count for NPDL points. The Board also streamlined the application process for tournament directors. For details, see parliamentarydebate.org/online-tournament-calendar
The Board will reassess the situation on the ground after the season begins, and will then set the policy for Spring semester.
