Joel is the debate coach at El Cerrito High School. He is also a former high school and college debater, and a former debate parent. By day, he is an environmental lawyer.
Sarah coaches for Servite High School, is the president of her local league, and can be found in tabrooms across the nation. She is passionate about advocating for young women in debate.
Akunna is the debate coach of New Roads High School. Akunna has coached middle school debate and high school speech and debate for the last several years in the greater Los Angeles area, and currently serves as the president of the Pacific Coast Debate League.
Nadia won the parli Tournament of Champions in 2015 and 2016, competing for Evergreen High School. She attends UC Berkeley, where she has been a member of Parliamentary Debate at Berkeley, the NPDA team.
Eric is one of the most successful debate coaches in history. His Regis High School (New York, NY) debaters have won numerous national championship and Kentucky TOC titles, and seven of his debaters have gone on to become American Parliamentary Debate Association national champions. His parli debaters have closed out finals of the Yale Invitational.
John was a key figure in the development of parliamentary debate as a high school event in California. He is a co-author of several widely read books on parliamentary debate, and directs the summer parliamentary debate institute at Claremont-McKenna College.
Jenny is the head coach at Lincoln High School in Oregon of a comprehensive debate, congress and forensics team. She hosts the Rose City Round Robin and Congressional Debate Tournament.
Artem is the head coach at Washington High School in California. His debaters have won the parli TOC and several other major invitationals.
Everett is Executive Director of the Connecticut Debate Association, which attracts over 400 debaters to its monthly extemporaneous debate tournaments. He coaches at Xavier High School, and helps with parliamentary debate at the Yale Invitational, Vassar Invitational, and Columbia’s Ivy League Parliamentary Championship. In the summer, he leads the parli lab at the Dartmouth Debate Institute.
Lilly is one of the 2017 TOC champions! Lilly was nationally competitive in parli and extemp. She now attends U Chicago and coaches high school speech and debate via videoconference for the NPDL office hours program, school programs, and private clients.
Julie is the Head of Speech and Debate for the Mountain View-Los Altos School District, and last year’s TOC Director. Her students have occupied top places in the parli rankings during her tenure as Head Coach.
Kyle is a recent graduate of Yale University and retired APDA debater. As a member of the Yale Debate Association, Kyle won the North American Championships in Parliamentary Debate and was a National Semifinalist in 2017. He has coached St. Luke’s School in Parli and currently coaches The Spence School in Public Forum.
Jessica has competed in NPDA parli for UC Berkeley for four years, coached several high school teams, and taught at Stanford’s summer parli camp.
Iain coaches one of the National Speech and Debate Association’s Schools of Outstanding Distinction (Valley International Prep), serves as chair of his district’s NSDA committee, and somehow finds the time to learn all of the lyrics to his favorite musicals. He had an award named after him when he competed at the TOC, which his students subsequently won.
Radhika is a student at Columbia University, and previously attended Horace Mann. She was the executive director of the New York Parliamentary Debate League. She competed in the 2018 NPDL TOC.
Alex debated parli at Ashland High School for three years and broke at TOC his senior year. He is now in his first year of NFA-LD and NPDA-Parli at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR
