With the largest yet NPDL Fall Invitational in the books, it is time for another newsletter!
Fall Voting Period
From November 29 until December 5, all voting members will get a chance to vote on a Written Ballot to have a say in the direction of the league.
To review and discuss the proposals submitted, please visit our forum. Note that some of the proposals package multiple changes into one proposal. Any school rep can comment on the forum to request that a proposal be split into multiple proposals.
The legislative committee meeting to vet the proposals is 11/21, 4PM PST. The Zoom link will be posted on the forum.
The Board meeting to vet the proposals is 11/28, 5PM PST. You can email npdl.board+president@gmail.com if you want to attend the meeting to make a public comment on some proposal.
Membership Roster
To receive future newsletters, vote in the upcoming Written Ballot, or attend NPDL tournaments, schools must have their NPDL registration up to date. Please review the roster - if it says “expires 10/31/2022” next to your school name in the ‘Status’ column, make sure to renew your membership for 2022-23.
NPDL Nationals
Based on member feedback at the Fall Meeting of Members, it looks like there is sufficient interest to go ahead with NPDL Nationals - an end-of-the-season online championship tournament open to all teams from NPDL member/observer schools.
The two most popular options for dates are March 24-26 and April 14-16. Please survey your students prior to November 29 to see which of the two weekends they are available for. Our Written Ballot will include a question about which date we should go with.
Adult Volunteers
Thank you to all the folks who volunteered at NPDL Fall and helped make the tournament a success!
We encourage community members to volunteer to serve on the tournament staff of NPDL Nationals and/or NPDL-TOC. Even if you’ve never worked at a tournament before - reach out, and we will pair you up with experienced tournament organizers who will catch you up to speed.

NPDL Tournament of Champions is tentatively scheduled for March 31 - April 2.
Student Volunteers
A huge round of thanks to all the volunteers who helped record rounds at NPDL Fall. All rounds have now been added to our recordings database.
In the meantime, our Outreach team has been working with our NPDL correspondents, but is still recruiting for this season! Correspondents will update rankings, compose news articles, develop curriculum, and assist with social media.

Board Update
Unfortunately, our previous Reporting Director had to step down from the Board for personal reasons.
Luckily, we were able to find a replacement. We are very excited to announce that Nick Hansen, a legendary coach from New Jersey, will be joining the Board as our new Reporting Director. You can read more about Nick on our Board page.
Tournament Updates
Ridge Debates are coming up December 9-11. This year, the tournament has added an online division with a West-Coast-friendly schedule.
